1st and 2nd grade CLUE students read The Lemonade Wars. They were so inspired by the text, they formed 3 lemonade businesses. They each wrote a recipe, followed it to make lemonade, created advertisements and "sold" their lemonade. It was a refreshing day!

Read Across America week is full of activities to celebrate Dr. Seuss and encourage children to read. Our primary CLUE class was invited to read to the kindergarten and first grade classes.
Primary Grade CLUE students explored the zoo to further investigate bats and other nocturnal animals. Of course, we checked out several other habitats. We ended the trip with a yummy picnic lunch. Oh what fun!
CLUEsters used logical thinking and critical thinking to solve a hypothetical problem. Macy's held a contest for outfit for it's mannequins. The catch was that it had to be made out of newspaper and tape. Students used the four steps of problem solving: Think, Evaluate, Decide, and Act to brainstorm, evaluate, choose, and design an outfit. Finally, they described and presented their creations to the class during a CLUE Fashion Show.
As a culmination to our study of the science and history of Chocolate, primary CLUEsters had a chocolate festival. Each student formed a company to develop and market a chocolate product. They created a sign related to their product, a snappy slogan, and a commercial. Judges came to the festival to taste and critique our products. It was a treat!
We saw so many things on our field trip to APAC: a barge, large machinery, limestone, the Mississippi River! We visited APAC as our regional exploration in coordination with our study of Petrology (Rocks). We learned how roads are paved and from where the materials come?
CLUEpers has a few breakaway days during SAT-10 to study butterflies and their life cycle. We watched as caterpillars went through metamorphosis to become beautiful butterflies. Then, we released them.
Autumn, Honesty and Jakira participated in Lucy's Poetry Slam! CLUEsters utilized the brainstorming process. They worked in teams to brainstorm for different uses of rocks. Each team member employed a certain job: timekeeper, sound keeper, captain, and encourager. Students followed the brainstorming rules:
